Free Electric: Pedal for Power - 1 Hour for 24 Hours
It’s creators call it the ‘Free Electric’, a stationary bicycle that can power a household with just one hour of pedaling.
The same man behind the 5-hour Energy drinks, is funding this version of a bicycle power generator. It’s a fitting coincidence, and we might just call the bike ’24 hour energy’.
He described it as simple, small, and easy to maintain. Pedaling for an hour on the ‘Free Electric’ hybrid bike can provide 24 hours of electricity, at least for a rural household.
Take note, half the world population still do not have access proper supply of electricity. One bike can be bought using pooled funds from a village or community - then additional batteries can be bought for individual homes and charged separately.
In the urban areas, this can be considered for emergency purposes.
It’s not a new idea, you have probably hear of bike generators before. But the ‘Free Electric’ is unique in a way that it’s creator is serious about moving to mass production of these hybrid bikes. In fact, they’re rolling-out 10,000 ‘Free Electric’ bike units in India this year.
